 2008 2006 2005

During our dialogue seminars we talked about the culture of a dialogue, conflict analysis, conflict management, war crimes, coexistence in BiH, freedom of expression, individual's responsibility and readiness to act in a society, gender equality and the educational system in BiH

Part of our activities are different educational programs, trainings for trainers, professional development in the fields of democracy, human rights and peaceful conflict resolution in co-operation with the Nansen Academy in Lillehammer, as well as other student exchange programs, such as the International Summer School at the University of Oslo, Norway.

We organized more than 40 workshops with different themes ("Beauty of Diversity", "Primary school pupils in conflict resolution", "Summer School of Dialogue", "Conflict Management and Mediation", psychological workshops for adolescents, etc.).This is a way of the investment into individuals whose aim is building of a better society.

We organised local conferences about trust among the youth in BiH and about responsibility of the politicians for coexistence in the municipalities of Bihac and Novi Grad.It was a hard task and a challenge to bring  at the same table the former actors of the conflict, members of different nationalities and to initiate a communication between them.

NDC Banjaluka organized a theatre performances "Duplo dno" and "Kost u grlu"  in co-operation with Wolf and Water Arts Company, UK. These performances were the results of series of the interactive workshops. The participants were young people from Kozarac, Prijedor, Sanski Most, Ljubija, Knezica, Kozarska Dubica.
This project with young people, implemented by our centre, supported the process of reintegration, opening a space for the establishment of the inter – ethnic communication and cooperation between defined target groups: returnees, IDP-s, refugees and domicile population.

NDC Banjaluka works with different municipal institutions in the bordering areas in order to improve their mutual co-operation. We initiated a project of re-establishing of the co-operation between municipalities of Prijedor and Sanski Most, through the conference Prijedor - Sanski Most "1992 -2004 -2010", which was a part of the project in the Prijedor region in December 2004.

Over 250 eminent guests from the region have so far participated in the TV talk-show "Buka" which deals with burning problems in BiH. Establishing a dialogue among people with different opinions, which was missing in this area in the past years, has been one of the educational missions of the project and this mission has been realised by raising different issues. We initiate public discussion and a dialogue on it. This is extremely important since these problems are not so often dealt with in BH media. BUKA is implemented in cooperation with CID Banjaluka and Alternativna TV station.

In the premises of our organization, we facilitated and organized, a great number of discussion forums, trainings, exhibitions, film screenings and presentations of the established and non-established individuals from the fields of culture, education, NGO. A part of these activities were also different round tables on actual problems in the society ( Media and war crimes, Process of return etc... )

Our centre organised and actively participated in a great number of public campaigns (European-Wide Action Against Racism and Fascism as a part of the Global Network of NGO-s, anti-war campaign for Macedonia in 2001, conscience objection, Coolturomania, BLOK 5, Stop the violence against returnees in BiH).

In co-operation with eminent experts and university professors, we conducted a research on the citizens' readiness to take the responsibility in their society. The research was published in the publication "Individual's responsibility and readiness to act".

As a part of the global initiatives, we organized and participated in national, regional and global Conferences on Conflict Prevention and Peace building. The main goal was to contribute to the sustainable partnership between governments and civil society in a civil society building, where the mechanisms and processes for conflict prevention were institutionalized on the local, national and regional level.

In co-operation with other offices of Nansen Dialogue Network, we organized OFF-On the Road Film Festival, the biggest film festival ever organized in Banjaluka. The idea of that Festival was, that through a dialogue stimulate a public discussion about the relation between culture, politics and democratic development in a post conflict context. How film art can contribute to the process of reconciliation in the region of ex-Yugoslavia?
